Here at Robin's Nest Animal Rugging our main goal is to satisfy, you the Taxidermist, and your customer.  That is why our Taxidermist and Animal Felters consider each pelt we receive as if it were their  own.

We start by carefully hand stretching each tanned hide and preserve as much of the hide and size as possible. The lighter areas of the animal rugs are dyed to give a more fuller look to your rug. We use 10 ounce batting to give your rug a plush thick feel. We never use glue!! Everything is hand sewn or machine sewn, you never see raw edges of your hide.

After this process we hand sew and ruffle a custom border. Your customer has many colors to choose from. Our rugs include two layers of scalloped edge, high quality ruffled felt border. However, three layers is an option. Feel free to contact us for a mailing of our color chart.

At this point we attach D-rings for the purpose of using your Animal rug for a wall hanging. Most larger animals have six d-rings included. Also you have the option to have a head bracket put on with heavier bear and african animals.

Our backing is the same durable felt that is used for our ruffles. The backing is all hand sewn and usually are done in a crisp black, but other colors are available.  Your finished product will be plush enough for a baby's bottom or luxurious enough to hang on a wall.  Bear Rugs are by far the most popular but coyote, zebra, lynx, and fox are becoming more desirable. Whatever your customer pelt we can make a rug for them.
